Learn How To Copy A Raspbian Image Onto An SD Card. In this video tutorial we present a detailed demonstration of the Top Three (3) Methods for Writing a Raspbian Image onto an SD Card. Using the completely free software tools - "Rufus Portable" , "Etcher Portable" & "Win32 Disk Imager". Writing or flashing an image to the SD Card using a powerful disk imaging tool will perform a low level block copy. This process will completely overwrite any contents including the boot sector, partition table or any partitions.

All three (3) of these methods will enable you to successfully write an image to an SD card. However, Etcher Portable has the best OS compatibility and is an easy to use software tool. Our preferred method is with the UNIX dd command utility included in most UNIX distributions. Because of the other built-in system tools useful for managing & recovering corrupt SD cards. You will need to download & install the appropriate software tool most compatible with your operating system & hardware setup. You must also download, extract & verify file signatures for the latest Raspbian software before you can get started with the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+.
